Shrek Coupon

For all you Shrek lovers out there.  Here is a coupon for $5 off the Holiday Double pack  Shrek Forever After the Final Chapter and Donkey's Christmas Shrektacular http://www.shreksavings.com/   this coupon is good until Christmas Day!

Tea Cup Candles

Today I want to share an idea for a cute Christmas gift. Everyone seems to buy candles for gifts but how about giving a personalized candle?  Follow this link for directions on making candles in a container
http://www.candletech.com/candle-making-basics/how-to-make-container-candles/  try to be creative in what kind of container you use.  An idea that I thought of today was going to a thrift store and getting a matching tea cup and saucer plate.  There are many inexpensive gift ideas out there to keep you from going broke.  Remember the season is about giving from your heart!

Hasbro toys for pennies..

Follow this link
http://www.hasbro.com/games/en_US/shop/special-offers.cfm
for a very cheap stocking stuffer from Walmart.
Walmart has the travel size Hasbro games around $5.00 so with the $5.00 coupon you will be getting it for almost free!

Today's Findings

There are a couple of findings that I think deserve mentioning today.  RiteAid has Wet n Wild and New York nail polish on sale B1G1 50% off plus get $1.00 +up reward.

2 Wet n wild  $1.50
2 New York   $1.50
=                     $3.00
-                      $1.00 +up
-                      $1.00 +up
=                     $1.00  for 4 nail polish or $.25 each

Watch your receipt on that deal... mine did not print the +up reward but since the sign was up the cashier honored it.

The second find for the deal will head you over to Kroger. Ragu'  pasta sauce and creamette noodles are on sale 10/$10 which means $1.00 a piece (at Kroger you do not have to buy 10 to get them for $1)
Spaghetti is a great money saver meal so this would be a great deal to stock up on!
Kroger also has OJ on sale $.99 for a 1/2 gallon which is a great buy too!

Tips!

Today I thought I would share a couple of tips that you might find useful.
Tip #1 Always plan EVERYTHING! ex. have you ever been fixing dinner and realized at the last minute that you didn't have a important ingredient and have to run to the store and pick it up? not only are you wasting the gas to go get the item but there might even be a coupon out there to make the item free if you only had the time to search for it.
Tip #2 (This one is my favorite)  Thrift store! There are many different thrift stores out there now. I have found brand new items that still had the tags on them of $50 or more and paid $2-$5 for them. I have found $25-$50 homeschool books for .10c.  That is some major savings on my pocket book :)  I know some people may have "issues" with shopping at a thrift store, if you are one of those people get over it! More than likely if someone sees you at a thrift store it is because they are also shopping there! After the first few visists you will be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner.
Tip #3 I will discuss coupons more in depth at a later date but if you are one of those people who doesn't want to take the time to clip coupons or go to more than one store then this tip is for you. Always remember to price match at Walmart!  Walmart's policy states that each individual store has the right to only except price matching from stores closest to them so be sure to know your individual stores policy.  I know my Walmart will accept all ads that come in our paper so this is not a problem for me. Walmart will only price match if the ad states a dollar amount. ex.  no buy one get one free and no % off ads will match at Walmart. Watch for their own sales and "stock up" on those items!
I hope these tips might be of some benefit to you all! I will have more tips to come!

Today's CVS trip

Not a very exciting week for CVS but since we needed diapers we went to take advantage of the buy $30 listed PG items and get $10 ECB.
Pampers  $19.99
Tide Stain release $3.99
Gain detergent $.99 X 7= $6.93
$30.91-
$1/1 Tide release
$1/1 Pampers
$.50/1 Gain
= $28.41
-$10 ECB= $18.41
It wasn't the best trip but needed to roll some ECB's before they expired and needed diapers so don't think it was too bad :)  If your store still has some Planters Grove that is on sale for $2.50 be sure to scan your card to get the $2.50/1 coupon and get your Planters nuts for free.

My First Entry

Since I am very new to blogging I can't promise that it will be very interesting for a while. I am hoping to share with my readers some helpful tips about saving a few pennies and just trying to live a little frugal. While I don't claim to be an expert on this subject, I have learned a few things along my journey. My intentions are to share what I have learned and what I will be learning in the future. I hope to have readers that will also share their own findings with the other readers. I will be sharing my weekly findings as I find them so please check back often so you don't miss out on any great deals!
